Breaking: TEC attacked in today’s Daily Telegraph for protecting your environment
When the Daily Telegraph on 6th December called for TEC's ‘total defunding’ because we are a ‘tax financed barrier to progress’, I knew I had to reach out immediately.
If progress is so short sighted as to justify the destruction of our city’s tree canopy, clearing endangered ecological communities for motorways, digging new coal mines or bringing in government policies that don’t protect us against climate change, then yes, we are and will always be a barrier to those damaging and retrograde forces. Our focus is always our shared future.
TEC won’t be silenced even as the battle to preserve our natural resources intensifies. Now more than ever we must stand together. Can you make a donation to support TEC today?
Throughout 2016 our high profile campaigns around land clearing, public green space, green energy and plastic pollution have clearly annoyed those who stand against us, and they’re lashing out with statements such as this: ”The Total Environment Centre, which received $317,000 from state and federal sources last year, should be high on the list for total defunding.”
We have a record of over 100 successful campaigns that fulfil our non-partisan, charitable purpose to protect the environment, and in 2017 we will continue to grow. But we need to raise $20,000 before December 31st to keep working no matter who attacks us.
